The Special Child Support Payment (子育て応援特別手当 or Kosodate Ouen Tokubetsu Te-ate) is being distributed in consideration of the burden left with families of multiple children under stresses of the current economic recession.

You must satisfy ALL of the following requirements:

(1) As of February 2nd, 2009 be recorded in the Basic Resident Registry, or the index of Foreign Residents (Gaikoku-jin Toroku Genpyo) for the City of Koka (payouts cannot be made depending on one's residency status)

(2) Be a household of 2 or more children between the ages of 3 and 18 (born between April 2nd, 1990 and April 1st, 2005)

(3) Of the those that meet the requirements of item (2), are 2nd born children or younger between ages 3 and 5 (born between April 2nd, 2002 and April 1st, 2005)

The head of household of the target payee(s) (for Foreign Residents, each target recipient) shall apply for payment receipt.

36,000 yen per child qualified for payment.

Applications will be forwarded to each qualified head of household or foreign payee. Procedures for applying and receiving payment are the same as the Supplementary Income Payment (link).

Please allow 2 to 3 weeks following the receipt of your application for payment.

Notices for the Supplementary Income Payment will be sent separately.

Applications will be accepted at the Minakuchi city office and other government offices. However, information regarding times, dates, and open locations will be mailed at the same time as application.
